Haridwar → Uttarkashi → Gangotri → Guptkashi → Kedarnath → Badrinath → Rudraprayag → Haridwar
This 3 Dham Yatra from Haridwar is designed for pilgrims who wish to undertake a spiritually complete Himalayan pilgrimage covering Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath within a well-balanced duration. Beginning directly from Haridwar helps optimize the route and reduce unnecessary travel time, allowing the journey to remain focused, structured, and spiritually immersive.
The itinerary combines scenic Himalayan drives, high-altitude temple visits, and the physically demanding Kedarnath trek, making it both spiritually enriching and physically engaging. Despite covering three major Dhams in just 8 days, the route is carefully planned to maintain proper altitude progression, manageable travel flow, and realistic recovery periods between demanding segments.
Haridwar (gateway) → Gangotri (origin of Ganga) → Kedarnath (Shiva shrine) → Badrinath (Vishnu shrine)
Your journey begins from Haridwar as you travel towards Uttarkashi, the gateway to Gangotri. The route gradually transitions from the plains into the Himalayan region, offering winding mountain roads, river valleys, and forested landscapes throughout the drive. As the altitude increases, the environment becomes cooler and more peaceful, creating a calm and spiritual atmosphere. Upon arrival in Uttarkashi, you check into your hotel and may visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the region’s important spiritual sites, before resting for the next day’s excursion.

After breakfast, you proceed towards Guptkashi, which serves as the base destination for Kedarnath. This is one of the longest travel days of the journey and takes you through multiple mountain regions, river valleys, and spiritually important confluence points known as Prayags. The changing landscapes and gradual terrain shifts make the journey visually engaging despite the long travel duration. By evening, you arrive in Guptkashi, check into your hotel, and rest in preparation for the upcoming trek.

This is the most important and physically demanding day of the yatra. Early in the morning, you travel to Sonprayag and then continue to Gaurikund, which serves as the starting point for the Kedarnath trek. The 16–18 km uphill route passes through steep mountain terrain, waterfalls, and rugged Himalayan landscapes, offering both challenge and spiritual depth. Pilgrims who prefer a more comfortable option can choose helicopter services or use pony and palki facilities. Upon reaching Kedarnath, you visit the sacred temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located amidst towering snow-covered peaks that create a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
HighlightsMeals & Stay: Overnight stay in Kedarnath
You begin your day with early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple, when the surroundings are quieter and spiritually more immersive. After completing darshan, you begin your return trek towards Gaurikund and continue the journey back to Guptkashi. Although physically tiring, the descent offers a strong sense of accomplishment after completing one of the most sacred pilgrimages in India. Upon arrival, you check into your hotel and take time to relax and recover.

After breakfast, you proceed towards Badrinath, the final Dham of this pilgrimage. The route passes through Joshimath and offers dramatic mountain scenery, steep valleys, and scenic river stretches throughout the drive. The spiritual atmosphere of Badrinath combined with the rugged Himalayan surroundings creates a memorable conclusion to the main pilgrimage circuit.

After morning darshan, you begin your journey towards Rudraprayag. Compared to earlier travel days, this drive feels more relaxed and allows you to gradually unwind after the intense pilgrimage experience.
