Delhi → Haridwar → Guptkashi → Kedarnath → Guptkashi → Delhi
This Single Dham Yatra from Delhi is specially designed for pilgrims who wish to visit Kedarnath within a shorter duration while still maintaining a structured and spiritually fulfilling journey. Unlike longer Char Dham or Do Dham circuits, this itinerary focuses entirely on Kedarnath, allowing you to dedicate your time and energy to one of the most sacred shrines of Lord Shiva.
Even though the duration is shorter, the journey still involves high-altitude travel, long drives, and a physically demanding trek, which makes proper planning essential. This itinerary ensures smooth transitions, manageable travel timings, and a balanced flow between travel, rest, and pilgrimage.
Delhi (starting point) → Haridwar (spiritual gateway) → Kedarnath (Shiva shrine in Himalayas)
Your journey begins with a morning departure from Delhi as you head towards Haridwar, marking the transition from a fast-paced urban environment to a spiritually enriched setting. As you travel through the plains and gradually approach Uttarakhand, the surroundings begin to feel calmer and more connected to nature. Upon arrival in Haridwar, you check into your hotel and prepare for the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, where the sight of glowing lamps, rhythmic chants, and the flowing Ganga creates a deeply powerful and emotional start to your Kedarnath yatra.
HighlightsMeals & Stay: Overnight stay in Haridwar
After breakfast, you begin your journey towards Guptkashi, which serves as the base for Kedarnath. This is one of the longest and most visually engaging drives of the trip, as you pass through winding mountain roads, river valleys, and sacred confluence points known as Prayags. The terrain gradually becomes steeper and more rugged, offering a true Himalayan travel experience. By evening, you reach Guptkashi, check into your hotel, and rest in preparation for the upcoming trek.
HighlightsMeals & Stay: Dinner and overnight stay in Guptkashi
This is the most important and physically demanding day of the yatra. Early in the morning, you travel to Sonprayag and then to Gaurikund, which is the starting point for the Kedarnath trek. From here, a 16–18 km one-way trek takes you through steep climbs, narrow paths, and high-altitude terrain, offering both challenge and spiritual reward. Pilgrims who prefer a more comfortable option can choose pony, palki, or helicopter services. Upon reaching Kedarnath, you visit the sacred temple of Lord Shiva, surrounded by majestic snow-clad peaks, creating an intense and deeply peaceful spiritual experience.
HighlightsMeals & Stay: Overnight stay in Kedarnath
You begin your day with an early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple, when the atmosphere is calm and less crowded, allowing for a more meaningful spiritual experience. After darshan, you begin your descent back to Gaurikund and continue your journey towards Guptkashi. The return trek is physically demanding but brings a strong sense of accomplishment. Upon arrival in Guptkashi, you check into your hotel and take time to rest and recover after the intense journey.
HighlightsMeals & Stay: Dinner and overnight stay in Guptkashi
After breakfast, you begin your return journey towards Delhi via Haridwar. As you descend from the mountains back into the plains, the environment gradually shifts from cool and rugged terrain to more familiar surroundings. Although the journey is long, it offers time to reflect on the spiritual experience and physical accomplishment of completing the Kedarnath yatra. By evening, you reach Delhi, marking the end of your pilgrimage.
